Jul. 27th, 2006 09:41 pmFirst, a
tiamat_360-style post: I don't think I got my usual 95.5 on this test, but I think I did well, and in any case I finished the hour-and-a-half test in an hour even checking answers, because there was no essay portion, on which I always spend more time than it deserves. So I'm in my dorm getting a bit more ready than I was after running to class. Unfortunately, as
lord_codfish at least will understand in terms of frustration, there was a LONG--two-paragraph--translation, no dictionary...I mostly got it right, but that can make grades vary wildly. Shrug; I like doing well, but the point is that I am actually learning things, and apparently not forgetting my English, which is awesome.
Also, I'm quite cheerful lately because a good half of {my good friends and immediate family} have contacted me this past week, and Dad and Diana (my sister) and Andrea (a shared friend) decided that they'd take a bit of time during the post-CTY Disneyland trip to write me a postcard each--it's making me laugh, the idea of my mother "on a mission" there, because she really wasn't able to enjoy it last year, what with the broken collarbone and all. I don't know why I didn't get her postcard if she sent one; mail is weird I guess. But the 10-day estimate is good. I've found that most people are doing well or as expected, one is doing better than before, one we'll see about when she has time to breathe tomorrow or so, one or two I'm worried about...and in fact I have someone to worry about and try to help slightly here...friendship is way underrated, and it's a relief to /know/ things.
