Adonai ro-i, lo ehsar...
Oct. 14th, 2006 12:44 pmWow.
We're singing the Chichester Psalms by Bernstein at 8 tonight...working with Judy Clurman from the Juilliard School. I actually worked with her when I was called in as a last-minute sub for a recorder player, and didn't like her style much, but I like her more and more with each rehearsal. I've performed the piece three or four times before, and I already thought it was wonderful, but I've never been in a choir that performed it /really well./ She got us to produce all the most agressive sounds, the sweetest sounds, perfect chords, actually acceptable Hebrew pronunciation, and she can even make us use the Sanders space properly...this concert's going to be /amazing/. (Oh, and not to mention the boy soloist, a seventh-grader named William from a choir school in Boston, has a very sweet voice.) I even managed to forget about my sore throat--dear gods let me still be able to sing properly tonight...
anyway. I haven't been reading LJ for a while, as those of you used to my stream of comments will have noticed; sorry about that.
