I keep wondering: why, when I am a surprisingly good speller and accept the English spellings books mostly give me, am I so strongly convinced that "Berkeley" is too full of Es, and why do I keep on remembering that every time I see the name? It has two more Es than it really needs, and one that could be an I; "Birkly", heh. I actually would rather spell it either "Berkley" or "Berkely". Actually now that I've used the accepted spelling so many times they don't always look right to me, but "Birkley" looks pretty good, and by looking at my first proposed spelling again I grow to like it. Oh well. Hope you enjoyed that insight into my silly brain. By the way, I'm commuting there for a Morse theory workshop this week and it is fun.
