um, right...

to lighten /that/ mood, that Ramen, though expensive (for China--I'll just have to save $3.20 later), is damn good.

Also, one of the most amusing things of the moment is the idea of watching someone call for a waiter in Beijing Opera..."fuuu....WUUUUuuu....yuaaaaAAN!" etc. :) (OK, so you won't get that unless you've seen some 京剧, but if you haven't, oh well.) We were having some trouble with the waiters at lunch, and a teacher (everyone knows I can sing by now) asked me to call for one in my choral-projecting voice, which however has such an amusing effect that I was too embarrassed/amused to go through with it.

What is with languages and weird ways of calling for waiters? In (first year or so) Spanish, we were told we should stage-whisper "Pssst! Camarero!" to get the attention of a waiter :P.
