I canna get o'er...

I feel like I really am a "hop, skip and a jump" away from home. Where a hop is a flight to Tokyo, a skip is a flight from there to LA, and a jump is a flight to Newark.

Or perhaps a hop is the test, a skip the packing and saying goodbye, and a jump the whole plane trip. I don't know.

But I just taught one of my teachers some singing methods, in particular the song quoted above; her relative pitch never had a problem in the first place, so though she has trouble with all the breathing, it was pretty effective. She will in theory memorize the words so that she can sing with me tomorrow (we practiced on "da," of course) as soon as this language pledge is OVER!

I love that song... now, if I knew more songs that *weren't* bittersweet love songs...

Heh. Well observed on both counts. Although the Arthurian musical has a couple of damsel in distress songs, which are almost as bad, as well as a temptress song, although I'm not teaching Tapestry SIG any of the above, even though they are all pretty songs and I like them... it takes a very traditional storybook approach to Arthurian legend, if you know what I mean, i.e. it has actual damsels in distress, which I found sort of refreshing after feminist retelling number n plus one, even though I don't like that sort of view of women overall...

Hm... and as a sample, I just realized that one of the damsel in distress songs, arguably the prettiest song from Tapestry, is online (although I haven't tested the link): The Lark.
