Also, only just saw the news about the New York senate. Damn. I guess NJ could be worse, after all (though I may register in CA, ugh...).
NJ has a governor promising to veto any marriage bill. It's in even worse shape than New York. New York also has a high court ruling interpreting current legislation to require New York to recognize out of state same sex marriages. So people who want to be recognized in New York can get married in Connecticut. Annoying, but not terrible.
But why, in the midst of a recession, is the New York State Senate pushing the economic activity that weddings generate into al the neighbouring jurisdictions ( not just CT, but MA, VT and Canada as well ).
