posted on LJ for once

Seriously, I urge everyone who hasn't to consider migrating over to Dreamwidth. Pingbacks are on their list of what's missing, and in particular they say "We're working on adding this one — we don't want to implement it the same way LiveJournal did". They're generally more concerned with privacy and users having options than LJ is. I have nothing against pingbacks, per se, but they quote things that should be locked as
gaudior pointed out, and the commenting feature bothers me more: I don't even want comments on my LJ to be posted over to Facebook. Of course I can ask that of you now--but I'd rather everyone comment on a site.
I have hundreds, if not dozens, of invites--all right, a dozen, and I bet one of the Dreamwidth users in my circle would let me "borrow" more.
It's pretty nice here, which is why I keep posting on it even though almost all comments, and my friends' page, are at LJ. My favorite thing is the cut-expansions and the managing-circle style, though others might like having more free icons. Edit: scratch that--I'd forgotten that LJ doesn't have a button allowing me to edit the entry from there instead of go home and hunt for the "journal" dropdown and such. I know I might be able to change this.
The point is, there are scripts and blockers you can put in your stylesheet or your browser (if you get how to do the former--LJ made me change my style before I could even try) to improve your own LJ experience, but there's this site that's actually good, and it just requires a critical mass.
Comment if you want an invite. Or use the one in the small text from other entries, or this or this.
