the kind of report I hope I /won't/ be making next year...also, I suppose, an exercise for a new LJ user.

8:30 AM EST--breakfast in Cabot, [livejournal.com profile] ophblekuwufu, [livejournal.com profile] silkspinner and me. Then [livejournal.com profile] landofnowhere joins us.
9:15ish--[livejournal.com profile] ophblekuwufu and I do the last 6 red rows in the first set, do some purple...[livejournal.com profile] silkspinner has trouble with the next color to add to the tail, which we must adjust. [livejournal.com profile] landofnowhere does math paper. The letter-people teach the dragon-person "I believe in the sun." She sings it softly, but quite prettily.
12:30--lunch in Cabot. [livejournal.com profile] multiplybytwo joins us for lunch, as does [livejournal.com profile] dumble.
13:15--continue, doing space between letters, and further progress on tail. [livejournal.com profile] multiplybytwo actually does a little bit of background purple (while [livejournal.com profile] ophblekuwufu figures out techniques of plying thread that comes in 5 strands into 3 strands to get it to the right thickness) but then leaves to manage senior sales. Also, [livejournal.com profile] milk_toast shows up and learns said techniques, and sure enough, finds them fun. [livejournal.com profile] dumble goes off to experiment with/on monkeys.
13:57--[livejournal.com profile] landofnowhere catches a shuttle to the river, to move something in Dunster, and stays there to finish her paper. eventually driven out by the noise of a piano tuner (which was exciting, at first, because it was so obvious to me when the notes were in tune, as they sounded better, so my sense of pitch must be more refined than it used to be). The rest of us migrate to the Comstock Living Room, where a guy who has reserved it until 5 to write a paper makes [livejournal.com profile] milk_toast not play piano, which he might not have anyway on account of my headache; so he goes off to play piano elsewhere, and comes back after an hour or so.
15:15--we start the yellow, on the second row of text. [livejournal.com profile] milk_toast plies threads for me. [livejournal.com profile] silkspinner goes off to take a costume from her dorm to wherever it belongs, and returns. [livejournal.com profile] mikevonkorff shows up, as do [livejournal.com profile] dergnoam and the mysterious reader who does not deign to get her own account, and [livejournal.com profile] thekinginyellow, at different times.
18:30--dinner on the Quad. [livejournal.com profile] ophblekuwufu and I agree that barbecues are not the best. But at least it enabled us to feed [livejournal.com profile] thekinginyellow.
19:15ish--back to work, having finished yellow. [livejournal.com profile] silkspinner goes off to hang out with her roommates (*ahem* 卡拉OK as one might say in Chinese)
19:45--migrate to Teh CRWL so we can watch the Utena movie while tapestrizing, and while I learn a few terms for my afternoon final (uggh) in Irish Mythology (OK, it can't be so bad). At this point, of course, various people show up, among them [livejournal.com profile] clauclauclaudia and a friend I don't really know, [livejournal.com profile] occultatio who is showing the movie, [livejournal.com profile] kat_ravensong, and later [livejournal.com profile] timmypowg and [livejournal.com profile] zezy_daemon, then [livejournal.com profile] tiamat360, then [livejournal.com profile] september_snow.
21:30--Utena movie starts (we're halfway through orange). It sure is pretty...though [livejournal.com profile] dergnoam and anonymous have gone off until it's over.
22:45--Utena movie ends, then there is trivia. The aforementioned pair return, and [livejournal.com profile] multiplybytwo shows up again. [livejournal.com profile] silkspinner returns, with two roommates (not the one who plays WoW and has left already) who very much admire the tapestry. People drift out gradually; also, many people go for a walk from which some will never return.
0:45--present presentation. The anonymous reader goes home.
2:00, thereabouts--we finish the letters and two purple rows. I fetch my digital camera from my room; I take pictures.
2:30--the three weavers (the Borderling, [livejournal.com profile] milk_toast, apparently numbers among those who went home) bring the tapestry to the HRSFA library, its home for the summer. My room isn't packed but my wall looks empty...I'll miss it, perhaps as I'll miss Harvard life in general this summer.
3:02--I finish this silly post. Wow, what a day. I have to sing the first Morning Prayers that acknowledges me as a Choral Fellow at 8:45. Good night--and I'm so glad we did it.
