I just got through, like, half of trigonometry with a smart high-schooler (who transferred schools and needs background-patching) in just over an hour. Also that earned me money. Win!

Also I am teaching my two sections in linear algebra tomorrow, for the first time. Wondering if it's obnoxious to give them index cards for names on their desks (I NEED those). Yay!

One suggestion that an older grad student made to me was to take pictures of the students on the first day and organize them in such a way that you can figure out their names; then learn their names by the second class. I never did this because I was unsure of whether the students would be disturbed by having a teacher want to take pictures of them, but it's at least something to consider.

Highly impressed!

Don't see that the index cards should be a problem, I've had lots of TFs do that.

Also if theres' a college facebook you could use that once you have a list of names.
