faculty dinner?

silkspinner at /her/ faculty dinner if she invites a professor and me) sometime. But the Cabot faculty dinner is coming up, and I'd like to ask my Arabic teacher (in fact I could ask any of my four teachers, so am being a bit indecisive about this, but) instead. Do you think that's okay? Is it sort of more the thing to invite one's thesis adviser to a faculty dinner, assuming existence of advice?
